Judge Ronald L. Castleberry (Ret.) | Of Counsel

Judge Castleberry (Ret.) serves the law firm of Adams & Duncan in an advisory capacity, providing strategic guidance and insight to the firm’s attorneys based on more than four decades of legal experience.

He served for over 20 years as a Judge on the Snohomish County Superior Court, presiding over a wide range of civil matters, including complex commercial disputes, real estate and development cases, employment claims, and multi-party litigation. His experience on the bench gives him a practical, well-rounded perspective on how cases are evaluated, litigated, and resolved.

Prior to his judicial service, Judge Castleberry spent over 20 years in private practice as a trial lawyer, serving as a principal litigator in commercial, construction, real estate, and insurance-related disputes. His work included significant construction and infrastructure matters involving the Snohomish County PUD and the Sultan River hydroelectric project, as well as representation of financial institutions, insurers, and real estate entities in complex litigation. He began his legal career as a Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General Corps, and later served as Director of the Snohomish County Public Defender’s Office.

Judge Castleberry was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1969.

He is no longer accepting appointments as a mediator or arbitrator, and currently focuses on advisory and mentorship roles within the firm.
